Welcome to Gracie Doodles
Who we are…
We are a small, in-home breeding program based in Litchfield County, dedicated to raising happy, healthy puppies who grow into the very best family dogs.
Before any breeding takes place, we complete thorough health and genetic testing on all of our parent dogs, to give their puppies the best chance at long and healthy lives.
Finding the right home for each of our puppies is just as important as how we raise them. We carefully interview all potential families to ensure our pups will be loved, cherished, and cared for forever.
If you’d like to learn more about our process or join our waiting list, we’d love to hear from you.
We can’t wait to help you find your newest furry family member!
How We Got Started…
We have always had a love for both dogs and caregiving.
In 2010, my husband Aaron and I brought home our very first dog together, a sweet, fluffy white puppy we named Bella. She quickly became part of our family, filling a place in our hearts we didn’t even know was missing. Bella was adored by both of us and our 4 children.
For years, Bella was our only dog, until 2014 when we decided she might like a playmate. That’s when we got Pete. We were assured he was too young to reproduce, so we brought him home and set up an appointment to get him neutered in a few months… but just about 6 weeks later, Bella’s belly began to grow, and to our surprise, she was expecting! We dove into research, gathered supplies, and prepared ourselves for what turned out to be a beautiful blessing—four gorgeous puppies! Raising them was hard work, but it was one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives. We still keep in touch with the families who adopted Bella’s pups, and it warms our hearts to know they’ve brought the same love and joy into their new homes.
Our sweet Bella Button stayed by our side until February 2023, when we had to say goodbye. The memories of her and her legacy live on through those pups and the joy that she brought to our family.
Around the time Bella’s puppies were born, I was pursuing a career in nursing with the dream of becoming a labor and delivery nurse. But when my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer, I knew my place was by her side. Nursing school was put on hold so I could support her through her treatments. She was one of my very best friends and such a beautiful light in this world. Although my mom fought bravely, she passed away in 2018. That journey shifted my heart—while nursing no longer felt like my calling, caregiving and witnessing the miracle of life still did.
In 2020, our story came full circle when we brought home our beautiful Gracie girl. Everywhere we went, people fell in love with her and asked how they could get a dog just like her. With careful planning, course completing, certificate earning, research, health testing, and LOTS of preparation, Gracie had her first litter of eight beautiful babies. We poured our hearts into raising them, and when they went to their forever homes, the joy was overwhelming. We even kept one of those pups, our sweet Izzie.
Word quickly spread, and soon families were reaching out, wanting a Gracie Doodle of their own. That was the beginning of Gracie Doodles.
Today, our mission is simple: to raise happy, healthy, well-loved puppies and match them with families where they will be cherished for life. Every doodle we raise is part of our heart, and when you adopt from us, you become part of our Doodle Family too.
To celebrate that, we started an annual tradition called Doodle Day—a special event where our pups and their families come together at a local dog park to play, connect, and grow as one big doodle community. Seeing all those tails wagging and hearts full of joy reminds us how blessed we are to do what we do.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for considering us as your breeder. We look forward to helping you welcome your own doodle into your family and heart.
From Our Hearts to Your Home…
At Gracie Doodles, raising puppies isn’t just what we do… it’s truly our passion. Every puppy is born and raised right here in our home, surrounded by the love, noise and fun of our family. From their very first breath, our puppies are cared for and loved as if they’ll be staying with us forever.
As part of our program, we use Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI). ENS gently introduces puppies to small, purposeful handling exercises in their first weeks of life, which can strengthen their immune systems, support brain development, and build resilience to stress. ESI introduces them to different scents, which helps expand their ability to process new experiences with confidence and curiosity.
We also safely expose our puppies to everyday sounds such as doorbells, vacuums, ringing phones, and even honking horns. These early experiences help them grow into well-adjusted, confident dogs who won’t be startled by the normal hustle and bustle of family life.
Our goal is simple: to raise well-rounded, loving companions who leave our home ready to bring joy, comfort, and laughter into yours. From our hearts to your home, each puppy carries a little piece of our family with them.
